Mobility Lab Helsinki provided companies with an opportunity to develop new solutions in a real urban environment together with the City of Helsinki, other companies, research organisations and residents. The project particularly focused on more efficient utilisation of data and the digital twin, but it also covered other smart mobility services and technologies.

The role of Forum Virium Helsinki
The role of Forum Virium Helsinki was to support the implementation of experiments and pilots – by developing the digital twin for mobility in particular and promoting the utilisation of data sets related to mobility and traffic. Forum Virium Helsinki ensured that the piloting supports the development of the City of Helsinki’s digital twin, data models and data and promoted the international scalability of the piloted solutions.
Sustainability and benefits for Helsinki
Mobility Lab Helsinki supported the development of the City of Helsinki’s digital twin and data models and the pursuit of the City’s climate and data strategy objectives, in addition to creating a framework for the development of new innovative solutions to the City’s traffic challenges through pilot projects.
