Mobility Lab Helsinki provides companies with an opportunity to develop new solutions in a real urban environment together with the City of Helsinki, other companies, research organisations and residents. The project particularly focuses on more efficient utilisation of data and the digital twin, but it also covers other smart mobility services and technologies.

Objective

Mobility Lab Helsinki’s objective is to make Helsinki the best place in the world for piloting new mobility services and technologies.

Duration, partners, funding and total budget

  • Duration: 1 January 2022 – 31 December 2024
  • Funding: City of Helsinki Innovation Fund
  • Total budget: 1,562,820 euros (Forum Virium Helsinki’s share is 1,104,360 euros)

The role of Forum Virium Helsinki

The role of Forum Virium Helsinki is to support the implementation of experiments and pilots – by developing the digital twin for mobility in particular and promoting the utilisation of data sets related to mobility and traffic. Forum Virium Helsinki ensures that the piloting supports the development of the City of Helsinki’s digital twin, data models and data and promotes the international scalability of the piloted solutions.
