[vc_column]The pop-up demo container Launchpad managed by the Jätkäsaari Smart Mobility project is an exhibition and meeting place for smart mobility. The activities of the demo space located at the Maria 01 startup campus are managed by Forum Virium Helsinki’s project partner Metropolia University of Applied Sciences.
The field of smart mobility has gained a new meeting place. Parked in the courtyard of startup campus Maria 01 since June, Launchpad showcases operators in the field and functions as a home base for visits, for example. The activities can also be expanded to the event spaces of Maria 01 and the courtyard area when needed.
‘This has been found to be a good place for meetings. We held a couple of demo days during the summer and had several groups of visitors. The smart mobility operators have received promising new contacts,’ says Anna-Stina Tähkävuori, project manager at Metropolia University of Applied Sciences, which manages Launchpad.
Launchpad will serve in this form until at least October. After that, the aim is for operations to be expanded to larger and somewhat more permanent premises. Launchpad is a part of the smart mobility test platform Jätkäsaari Mobility Lab comprising several projects.

Over the summer, Launchpad has had visitors from Europe, Asia and the United States. In addition to this, interested passers-by have had the chance to test various electric modes of transport, learn about the activities of the companies involved in the project and hear about the smart mobility development underway in the Helsinki region. During Launchpad demo days, there have been several operators in the field at the container presenting their services and products.
You can contact Anna-Stina Tähkävuori regarding the use of Launchpad. The space, and Maria 01 in connection to it, can be used at least for visits and other meetings. Launchpad is currently showcasing several projects and companies in the field of smart mobility. In addition to this, representatives of companies can come and provide information about their activities and bring more tangible things to show during visits.
