Artikkelikuva: We seek new mobility solutions for Jätkäsaari – open call for experimentations

Forum Virium Helsinki is seeking new mobility services and solutions for residents in the Jätkäsaari area through experimentations. The call is open until 3 March 2019.

The experimentations are part of the Last mile project, which seeks new mobility services and solutions for the use of travellers, residents and commuters in Helsinki, Vantaa and Espoo. The now opened three calls for tenders focus on residents of the Jätkäsaari area in Helsinki.

Mobility experimentations for the needs of residents

The open call focuses on experimentations that provide practical solutions to the mobility challenges of Jätkäsaari and/or mitigate congestion, emissions and other harmful impacts of traffic. The expected content of the experimentations is described in the tendering documents found below.

The call has three key themes. Each theme has its own independent call for tenders:

A) Innovative mobility and transport services (1-2 experimentations, á max. €20,000)
B) Shared vehicles (1-2 experimentations, á max. €10,000)
C) Traffic safety and mitigating harmful impacts (1-2 experimentations, á max.€15,000)

Altogether up to five experimentations are selected for implementation. Depending on the theme, the maximum cost of one experimentation is 10,000 – 20,000 euros (VAT 0%).

The open call is directed to companies and other actors that provide novel mobility solutions and services. Two or more actors can leave a joint proposal together.

The expert panel of the Last mile project will select the experimentations for implementation. The experimentations will start in spring 2019, and the duration of an experimentation is 3-6 months.

The Jätkäsaari area acts as a platform for experimenting and provides a concrete environment for testing new services and solutions. The experimentations carried out with residents provide feedback, lessons and real-life experiences regarding the services. Forum Virium Helsinki facilitates the implementation of the experimentations, providing its contacts with relevant cooperation partners. The experimentations will be communicated by Forum Virium Helsinki.
