The webinar, organized by Forum Virium Helsinki, the City of Helsinki’s innovation company, and Business Helsinki as part of the joint Mobility Lab Helsinki project, will focus on various sensors used for traffic counting and analysis. The event will be held in English.
During the afternoon, participants will learn about crowdsourcing and the Telraam device, which can be attached to a window at home; the FlowCube device in the Kaisantunnel, which counts traffic and can also analyze travel times; and the lidar radar experiment covering the entire Manta statue area and Pohjois-Esplanadi. The data collected from these experiments specifically supports the development of the city’s digital twin for mobility.
The event will bring together the lessons learned from the sensor pilots carried out over the past year and provide more details about the background of the data collection. All three companies involved in the sensor pilots will present their operations, products, and the insights gained from the pilots.
Some of the data collected from the pilots can already be found in Mobility Lab Helsinki’s data catalog. The catalog brings together datasets relevant to the digital twin for mobility, including traffic and mobility data, conditional and contextual information, as well as infrastructure data.
