Survey on User Experience of the Viikki Light Rail Crossing Warning System
Welcome to participate in a survey regarding a new type of warning system being tested at the Viikki light rail (pikaratikka) crossing point!

This survey is part of a year-long pilot project where the city’s innovation company Forum Virium Helsinki, in collaboration with the City of Helsinki, VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, and InnoTrafik Oy, is testing a new type of warning system at the light rail crossing point of Viikintie and Koetilantie (near Gardenia). The purpose of the system is to improve the safety of pedestrians and cyclists by warning them of approaching light rail vehicles (“high-speed trams”).
Your response is very important as it will help us evaluate the effectiveness and impact of the warning system on traffic safety.
Answering the survey will take approximately 5–10 minutes. All responses will be treated confidentially and will only be used for the evaluation and development of the warning system.
The pilot is part of the ELABORATOR project, which aims to promote safe, inclusive, and sustainable urban mobility. The project is funded by the EU’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme.
