This publication gathers information and lessons learned on promoting holistic well-being in cities using an ecosystem model.
The publication More Together – Ecosystemic Collaboration to Support Sustainable Well-being and Vitality presents the results of the The KauKo – Urban Environment as Innovation Platform for Wellbeing project, which focused on promoting the well-being and mobility of city residents and was partially funded by the European Union.
A particular focus is the Ecosystem Model for Perceived and Holistic Well-being developed at Laurea University of Applied Sciences, which supports the promotion of sustainable well-being and vitality in urban environments. It also includes lessons and information from experiments carried out by Forum Virium Helsinki and Business Helsinki, which focused on the mobility and well-being of children, young people, and the elderly.
The experiments were conducted during the project in Malmi, Malminkartano, and Espoo through piloting programs. In the programs, companies, city organizations, and residents developed and tested solutions in a genuine urban environment.
The publication serves as a practical tool and a theoretical framework for urban developers and others engaged in ecosystem work. The KauKo project was partially funded by the Helsinki-Uusimaa Regional Council and the European Union.
