The pilots created through this Call for Tenders will be a part of the Urban Mobile Robotics project. The goal of the project is to co-create mobile robotics solutions for challenging urban environments and to promote the competitiveness and growth of participating companies. Apply by 5 December 2025.

The Urban Mobile Robotics project calls for companies to develop and test pioneering robotics solutions to respond to the challenges of an urban environment. The deadline for tenders is 5 December 2025 at 11.59 PM (EET).
We aim to select 6–9 providers to develop pilot projects that promote smarter and more sustainable urban environments. The subject of the tenders is mobile robotics technology solutions that perform tasks in the air, on the ground, or in water. The Technology Readiness Level of the solutions can vary, but the goal of the program is to advance them during the piloting phase.
Companies and other organisations with a valid European Business ID can participate. We also accept tenders from groups or teams of different participants.
The chosen pilots will receive the following:
- Up to €10.000 of funding to create the pilot (VAT 0 %).
- Expert support and resources from Metropolia’s Robo Garage (value up to €25.000, 0% VAT)
The tenders will be evaluated by the following criteria:
- Significance for the city (20%): How will your solution improve the city’s services, maintenance, or decision-making?
- Technical realism (20%): The plan for the pilot and its technical feasibility.
- Innovativeness and novelty (20%): What does your solution bring to the table compared to existing methods?
- Commercial potential (20%): How does the pilot promote commercial potential and scalability?
- Price (20%): The overall price of the tender, its extent and content.
The subject of the tenders is a designated piloting or development project with an estimated budget of approximately €5.000–10.000 (VAT 0 %) per pilot. The tenders should reflect the size of this budget. The buyers reserve the right to decline any offers that differ significantly from the given budget.
