DataBusiness Challenge is a new open data idea and solution competition. For the six largest cities in Finland is is a way to support the development of new user based services.
Do you want to create an application that helps the everyday lives of people living and working in the cities? Or help them actively participate in the development of their city? Or do you have ideas about how digital services could help organisations base their decisions more and more on accurate information? Now is your chance to get creative!
The six largest cities in Finland (Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa, Tampere, Turku and Oulu) want to support the development of new user based services by arranging an open data innovation competition.
The DataBusiness Challenge aims to encourage developers, entrepreneurs and startups to start utilizing the existing open datasets and interfaces offered by the six cities.
The challenges are: Active citizen and Functional city. The entries can be a functioning digital application or service/solution concept. They have to utilize at least one open dataset produced by the six cities, and be developed during the competition.
The competition runs from 3 October 2016 – 30 January 2017.
The winners will be awarded on the 15th of February 2017 in an awards gala organised in Helsinki.
