Helsinki succeeded in Smart City rankings in 2024

1. World’s Happiest Country

According to the report, Finland maintained its top position as the world’s happiest country for the seventh consecutive year.Finland’s high ranking is due to, among other things, strong social security, equal opportunities, trust in societal institutions, and a low level of corruption. In addition, Finns’ high-quality healthcare, education system, and quality of life contribute to general well-being. Finland’s nature, equality, and sense of control over life also increase citizens’ happiness. The stability of society and people experiencing less stress in their daily lives positively affect citizens’ experiences of happiness.Although the 2024 report does not focus on innovations, technological development and innovations can generally improve the quality of life and increase happiness by providing new solutions to challenges in healthcare, education, and other areas of life.
   
   
2. World’s Best Digital Twin
   
   Helsinki ranked as one of the world’s leading future-ready cities in ThoughtLab’s “From Future Vision to Urban Reality” study. The study assessed 250 cities around the world, and Helsinki was identified as an excellent example of a future-oriented city.Special mention is given to Helsinki’s digital twin, which can be described as the world’s best.
