Recycling Master
Welcome to the Recycling Master Course, part of the TREASoURcE project. The aim of the course is to promote consumer competence in the circular economy.
The course is made in Finnish and users should note that the pilot version of it has been developed in collaboration with the City of Helsinki’s rehabilitative work activities and disability services, and therefore some of the content includes references to them. Both clients and staff participated in the course design during 2024, and it is now part of these units’ online course offerings for their customers. They will continue to adapt and develop the course based on their needs. The concept development and related workshops were coordinated by Rojekto Oy.
The course is freely available to anyone, but due to the nature of the exercises, login to the Moodle learning platform is required.
The Recycling Master Course aims to make everyday recycling familiar and accessible to everyone, and to teach the basic principles of recycling. It is especially designed for individuals who prefer learning through videos and practical tasks rather than reading.
The course makes extensive use of existing online educational materials, which have been supplemented with exercises tailored to the target groups.
The course covers all key materials commonly encountered in everyday life, including: biowaste, plastics, metals, paper and cardboard, batteries, electrical and electronic waste (WEEE), medicines, and discarded textiles.
The course is divided into four days
- Day 1: Basics of recycling
- Day 2: Everyday recycling – Part 1
- Day 3: Everyday recycling – Part 2
- Day 4: Me and a sustainable future
Each day consists of four sections, with the final section dedicated to reviewing and testing the content learned that day.
The estimated time to complete one day is approximately four hours.
Please note: The course is in Finnish. You will have to register as a user to the Moodle online learning system first to view the course contents.
You can access the course login page here.
This course was developed as part of an EU-funded project and is therefore freely available for use. If you are interested in the concept or materials, please contact Kaisa Sibelius (contact details below).
