This information covers the main website of Forum Virium Helsinki and also project websites maintained by us (such as 6aika.fi, fiksukalasatama.fi, fabulous.eu and many others).
Our website will work without cookies as well, so you can disable them for instance with your browser settings or with a browser extension. However, some functionality on our website might be unavailable without cookies.
1 What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files which are saved to your computer or other device when you visit a website. On subsequent visits they are sent back to the website or another site which will recognize the cookies.
More information about cookies is available here: www.aboutcookies.org.
2 Different types of cookies we use
We use both temporary and permanent cookies. Temporary cookies are deleted when you close your browser. We also use permanent cookies which will be saved for a predetermined time.
The different usage scenarios for cookies are outlined below.
Cookies for usage and/or visitor tracking
Cookies are used for measuring different usage aspects on our website (for instance which pages are opened most often, possible error messages etc.). These cookies do not track or save any personal details, they are anonymous and are only used for technical monitoring and debugging purposes.
Google Analytics saves data on browser details (for example browser version, language), a browser identifying id and ip address. The ip address is anonymized (some digits are removed, and it cannot be connected to a specific visitor). The data is stored for three years.
If you use our website, you are consenting to the use of Google Analytics. If you do not consent, please do not use our website.
You can disable the use of Google Analytics on your browser by enabling a function called Do Not Track (DNT), available in most browsers. We will honor the setting and disable Google Analytics on your visit if your browser requests it.
Third party cookies
Our website contains buttons and functionality that help sharing our content to external websites and social media. If you use these buttons or functions the service providers may place a cookie on your device. We cannot control the use of these cookies. More information can be found from the website of these third party service operators.
3 How to control or remove cookies?
Most web browsers will accept cookies without prompting, but you can control the settings for your browser and disable, remove or force a notification for cookies.
If you want to disable cookies completely in your browser, please follow instructions for your browser developer (the settings will usually be found in Settings or Preferences). More information is available here: www.aboutcookies.org.
If you disable cookies, some functionality on our website might be unavailable. Disabling cookies will not remove them from your browser, you will have to delete them manually from your browser settings.
